About the Coaches:
Tammy Behrens is a Road Runners Club of America Cerified Coach and also holds her personal training certification through the YMCA. She has recently accepted a high school teaching and cross country coaching position at Homestead High School. With this change taking place, PR Training will be going through some changes as well.
Tammy has been coaching training classes for 8 years, has corporate training experience, and has 8 years of middle school and high school coaching experience. She holds a masters degree in Biology from Ball State University and was a collegiate cross cross country and track runner for The University of Indianapolis. Tammy is also a pioneer board member of the F4F Half Marathon.
Tammy has completed many local races since moving to Fort Wayne over 16 years ago. She has completed the Indianapolis Mini Marathon 13 times and has finished among the top 1% of women many times, with a best finish
of 39th woman overall. She placed 6th in her age group at the Philadelphia Half Marathon in 2007. She also completed the Boston Marathon in 2004 and 2007. In 2006, she ran the Chicago Marathon in a time of 3:23:39. This was a top 3% place of the female runners.
Tammy continues to make a postivie difference in runners and walkers lives in Fort Wayne. Many participants have achieved a PR 'personal record' in distances from the 5k to the marathon. She has added various levels of training to meet the growing needs of the groups runners and walkers.
